Lawn Day.....

Today Shelia and I cut the lawns. I start by doing all the trimming and the steep spots and she takes over and does the most of it Square Footage wise. While she is doing that I get the weedeater out and do the trimming. It is so nice having her help me it saves about half the time for me to get the yards done. Today it is in the 80's and they are complaining about the heat but to us the heat ain't to bad and the humidity is running in the 70% range. Yes we can feel it but so far so good..... Next week we head off for a 2 and 1/2 week vacation of sorts. I will let Shelia give the details on where we are going...

The T-Shirt Shelia is wearing is one we bought from one of Alex's track meets. Who would have thought that the saying on the back would apply to us.......

Shopping and movie day

Well today we went out to Hendersonville and found a great store it is called Home Goods. Oh it is packed with neat stuff for the house. It reminds of a shop Pam and I went to at Pismo one year. We got Brianna her bedroom comforter and a hamper. I got white and gray kitchen chair pads. Since the kitchen has white cabinets and all the appliances are black that has become by color theme for the kitchen. The dishes I bought from Wal-mart are white w/black flowers. If we only had a truck we found a teakwood patio set and cute table for the kitchen.
We also went to the movies and saw Indiana Jones. It was really good. The theaters just opened in March and they are so nice and roomy. One of the reasons Lee hates to go to the show is that it kills his knees because he is so cramped, but he was very comfortable.
Tomorrow we will be getting the RV ready for our trip to PA. Lee just called our friend Terry in New Hampshire and put in our request for Maine Lobster for Father's day. Yummy!!!!
Sorry ladies but it is also lawn mowing day so I will mow while Lee does some trimming. This time I am going to put Bio-freeze on my back before I start the lawn. Well gotta go. See ya

Wooooo Hooooooo

I can see into the future and there is a RIDING MOWER in it..... LoL... Shelia did a awesome job and I don't think she knows how much it helped me. Not only physically but mentally. It was so awesome seeing her push that %#$@&^% mower it inspired me to. I now can sorta relax knowing that I will get help doing the lawns.

This place is beautiful and the yards is very PLANTED. I was talking to my neighbor this morning and he was saying that the people that lived here before would be working in the yard all day for 2 days straight and then they would be working on the yard all day long. I told him that ROUND-UP is my friend and that things will die and be replaced with lawn. He laughed.... I didn't retire to work this hard and I won't....... LoL....

Again I thank my awesome wife for being who she is.........

I Did It !!!!

I just done with mowing the front and back yard. My goodness what a job. My arms are still shaking. I am such a sissy. Lee did the edging and the weeding. He is putting something on the grass to get rid of bugs and then he will need to water. But I am finished!!!!!!! It should be a nice day today in the mid 80's there maybe some showers later this afternoon. We are still coughing and sniffing but doing better.

Friday, May 23rd

Here comes the heat!!!!!We have been busy working on the house. I got a virus and being the nice person that i am I have given to Brianna and Lee so today we have not done much of anything just open a few more boxes. I am trying to arrange the pictures against the walls where I want Lee to hang them, of course he is already saying "We do not need all these pictures on the wall" Oh well!! Still waiting on our deferred comp $$ so we can go buy a truck so we can get furniture that we need. It does not seem that humid but it is warm about 86. The living room is the room that seems to get the hottest so I think once we get the blinds up that should really help. Well I hope everyone has a happy and safe 3day week-end.

Strawberry Festival Update

http://s271.photobucket.com/albums/jj139/_LeeB_/

Here are a few pictures from the Strawberry Festival... I took these before my camera died... It was cool just watching people. The Festival was right in the middle of town and Highway 109 runs right thru it and in some of the pictures you can see the traffic Semi's included. Highway 109 is a main short cut from Kentucky to East Bound I-40. The Highway was shut down for 2 hours to let the parade go on. What the truckers did I have no clue. The festival was on Saturday only and there was a free concert after at the park featuring Ronnie McDowell and the Jordinairs. (Elvis Presley's back-up group. We did not go because Shelia and Brianna got sun burned while watching people and waiting for the Parade. The temps were in the mid 70's. Next year we will be a little bit more prepared.......

100 Mile Yard Sale.. The Adventure goes On and On

http://s271.photobucket.com/albums/jj139/_LeeB_/Longest%20Strawberry%20Shortcake/100%20Mile%20Yardsale/

I fixed the link to the pictures and I also (THINK) I made it easier to post comments. Let me know...

To explain where the 100 mile yard sale is... We live off highway 109 and 109 goes right thru the middle of town about 5 miles from our street and it crosses highway 52. Highway 52 runs east and west if you turn to the west 52 goes about 20 miles if you turn left on 52 it goes about 80 miles. We went to the left if you will notice people just set up there yard sales any where along the road. I took some pictures as I was driving so you could see the scenery that we live in. We only had the HHR so we could not buy a lot of stuff. Next year we want to take the MH down there and park it put out the awing and sell stuff... LoL We bought the bell, two small wooden wheels, and the little chair that we now have in our back yard..... I hope I was able to explain this. All I can say is we have never seen anything like this and it was truly amazing...

I sure hope the link works

Great Day......... Kinda

Here are pictures of the garage and one picture me standing in the garage looking to the west down our driveway.. Note the clouds.

Today is the kick off of the Strawberry Festival and they are trying to build the WORLDS Longest Strawberry Shortcake. (110 is the record and they are going for 315ft) We may go downtown and take some pictures and I will post them later. Saturday is the actual Festival with a Parade and Vendors and a Free Concert with Ronnie McDowell and the Jordanaires (Elvis Presley's backup).

Tomorrow is the 100 mile Yard sale (and me with no truck) all along Highway 52 from Orlinda to Celina, Tennessee ..... This a big weekend in these here parts and the weather should be perfect. Not San Diego weather but closer then most. Signed Juan...P.S. Love you Terry

Rainy Day

Well it is rainy Wednesday. As always we are working on boxes. Now we are down to the boxes that have that stuff that you do not know what to do with. Why did we bring it.? Of course we still have the boxes that are full of books but we need to buy the bookshelves before we can do anything with those. We all went and got our hairs cut today. Bre looks so cute. The guy is here measuring the windows for the blinds. Not sure why Lee has him in the back yard. He gets bored just talking to me so when he has a chance for that male bonding thing he really takes advantage of it. Poor guy....I was in a pool at MID for survivor and I won so I am waiting for my $300 big ones to come in. Not sure what I will get thinking about rattan trunks to put blankets into. Or maybe I will save the money and get tickets to go see someone famous when they are in town. Who knows.

Lee hates plumbing 5/13/08

Well yesterday Lee got to work on the front bath tub. He became really good friends with the help desk person for Delta. He called several times. Then this morning the front toilet stopped flushing. Back to plumbing again. He just got back from Ace placed the receipt on the table and said "I HATE PLUMBING" The Comcast guy will be coming by again. We keep losing our internet. Then tonight the guy comes to measure the windows for blinds. Lowes has a great deal right now.
Well I better get in the shower before Lee turns off the water.
Have a great day.

What a difference a day makes

Well Monday the weather was awesome. Clear BLUE sky and chilly in the morning and warm in the afternoon. I bought a screen door for the patio and it made a world of difference in the air flow. You should have seen me getting that screen in the HHR. Lets just say it was good I didn't have to slam the brakes on. I got to looking at the front door and discovered that it is a storm door and it has a glass panel that can be removed and a screen can go in it's place for even better flow. So I went to my Handy Dandy local Lowes (in a different state Ky to be exact) and ordered and replacement a screen. I HATE PLUMBING..... More on that next time....

Take Care... Love and Miss Ya'll

Shelia's Home

Wooooo Hoooooooo Shelia made it home and Brianna and I are so happy. It is amazing how much you miss someone when they are gone. I guess we all take our better half's for granted.

Her flight was good I was able to watch her flight on a web site called Flight Status. It showed the plane going straight south to avoid and storm and then circle back up to Dallas. With all that turning it made her flight late arriving into Dallas and her flight to Tennessee was only 30 minutes after she landing. But low and behold I found a web site that showed the flight times from Dallas to Nashville and her flight in Dallas was delayed but 40 minutes. So when she called me from the plane and was nervous about making her connecting flight I was able to help her relax. Cell Phones and the Internet are a great thing. (sometimes)......

Welcome Home Honey..

Weather has Been Awesome

The past couple days have been beautiful. Temps in the mid to high 70's humidity in the 30's it really has been nice. We are expecting rain Thursday but thats OK.. People out here don't really have to water the yards cause I guess it rains quiet a bit during the summer. Last year there was a bit of a drought but we are used to that. Shelia comes home tomorrow YAY...... We both miss her. I have been pretty busy working on the garage and the TOOL Shed putting things away. Wow we brought way to much stuff with us... A garage sale should be in the future but I will try and sell stuff on Craig's List first...... Tomorrow I am going to tackle the lawns again before Thursday's rain. I must say it is getting easier to cut now that I mulch and don't bag. I still need a riding lawn mower though....

The picture was taken before we unloaded the trailer. We have our recliners but we need to buy a couch....

Bumble Bee's

Today was beautiful the sun was shining and it was about 74 all day. I worked on the garage today doing my best to get it done. But it was one of those daze where you work and work and get nothing done. I know I got allot done because the cabinets are full of "Garage STUFF".

Anyway while I was working I noticed a Bumble Bee had wondered into the garage and was at the screen trying to get out so I removed the screen and let him out. It got me to wondering about Bumble Bees they have been Buzzing around here ever sense we got here. They just hover and look at either me or the Motor Home. Interesting bugs they are. (Alex says scientists say that Bumble Bees should not be able to fly because the way they are built) anyway they hover looking at things and when another on comes close they chase each other. I am sure they are blown away by the size of the Motor Home and don't know what to make of it. Now me on the other hand I think they see me as fresh meat from California and at any minute they are going to bounce on me and have their way with me. (Bee it sexually or dinner I am not sure) Updates to follow....

Lots of rain

We got a lot of rain this morning around 3 am other then that. We are fine. Our house site on a hill overlooking the rest of the neighborhood so it will take a hell-of-a-lot of rain to effect us... The thunder woke me up several times. It was rolling through and every once in a while it would "Clap" and that startled me awake.. Today they are calling for rain in the morning and clearing in the afternoon. I remember when we lived in California after the rain if it cleared off we would worry about "FOG".... It really is amazing how green everything is here...

Big Rain

Today went well. I worked on the kitchen and Bri worked on? Well lets just say she was in the house. I had to go to Lowes around noon and told Bri lets go and off we went. Oh My did we hit some rain. The wipers on the HHR were going as fast as they could and we slowed down to about 30 (so did everyone else) and then about a mile later it was over. Then just before we got home it hit us again. Steve called me today concerned over how we were doing. (Thanks Steve) Told him we were just fine and he made me promise to call him tonight at 10 our time to let him know we are OK. I guess there is another round of thunderstorms going to be coming through after midnight. I hope I get some sleep......

Shelia is having a ball in California. I can't wait til she gets home I (we) sure miss her smiling face

Take Care

Day 1... Shelia is in California

Shelia made to Calif with no problem. We dropped her off at the airport at 5am. (Well we went in with her) and watched her go through security and then Bri and I left. it is exactly 50 miles from our house to the airport. There is 2 ways to go and it makes a giant circle. The way we came home was a much nicer ride. Brianna pretty much hung out in her room today listening to music and working on a rug. I was out in the garage trying to get some boxes moved into the house so I had room to work and get some cupboards put in so I have a place for stuff Shelia throws out of the house when she gets home. Funny thing is I found 3 boxes for Bri and brought them in and she would empty them in 2 minutes... Hmmmmm course when her phone rang today she could not find it....... Geeeeeee I wonder why? We had dinner and watched survivor and now she is watching CSI and I am in here so for tonight we are safe... It was very windy here all day and we are suppose to get a storm tomorrow night... Thats it for now.....
